A little know secret for those in the Hunters Creek community is the Shingle Creek Management Trailhead. For those who are a little adventurous, this trail runs along the Shingle Creek River. Be prepared for a little bit of a hike as you walk along the river. This trail is not paved but offers a back to nature feel that brings you into undeveloped areas of South Orlando. Easy access to the trail can be found behind Hunters Creek Middle School. There is plenty of parking in the back and the trail is easy to follow. There are talk with Orange County and the Shingle Creek Management to expand the trail all the way to Sandlake Road and improve the pathway for Joggers, Walkers and Bikes.
For those looking for a little more adventure, canoeing is allowed and fishing. Next time you are looking to get back to nature, come take a walk right here in Hunters Creek…. Its free as well.
