Hunter’s Creep Nights in Hunter’s Creek Begins October 22

Hunter’s Creep Nights will be in its eighth year for Halloween 2010, the largest multi-night event in the neighborhood designed for kids, teens and adults of all ages. The event is scheduled on weekends on October 22, 23, 29 and 30 and runs from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. This year’s event is centered around an outdoor “haunted trail” concept where visitors can explore a haunted trail built by community members.

The event takes place at Osprey Park and this year’s theme is “Expedition Fear”. The history of Osprey Park goes back to the mid-20th century where legend has it that the park covers sacred burial grounds. The expedition will look to discover the dark secrets of this territory, giving visitors a chance to explore the haunted trail on their own. Other highlights of this year’s event include a laser tag arena, kids tent with creepy crafting activities and games, a trail filled with spooky décor, and games with prizes.

The Expedition Fear trail includes extreme darkness, strobe lights, fog lamps and intense audio and lighting effects. Children who are too young to enter the trail can spend up to two hours in the “Kids’ Zone”, a supervised area where they can get their face painted, make Halloween-themed crafts and paint a pumpkin.

Hunter’s Creep Nights includes live entertainment, Halloween activities for young children, food and games throughout the day. It’s a fun and safe alternative to trick-or-treating, and gives even younger kids a chance to participate in a community activity. Since this is an outdoor event, it will close if there is severe weather and no refunds will be given.

Admission prices to Hunter’s Creep Nights are as follows:

  • Expedition Fear Trail: $6 per person
  • Kids Tent: $3 per child (only for kids between 4 and 12 years of age for two hours)
  • Laser Tag: $3 per person

Anyone who wants to volunteer for this event or has questions about the attraction can call the Hunter’s Creek Community Association at (407) 240-6000 for more information.
