When it comes to selling your home in Hunters Creek you will want to do some cleaning!
Not only is a nice clean home welcoming to buyers it is also part of taking pride in your beautiful home!
Asides from the regular cleaning and vacuuming there is a big “little project” around the house that can often be forgotten – Stain removal!
Stain removal requires different procedures depending on what and where a stain is. Also some people prefer to use minimal chemicals for fear of damaging the item that is stained.
So if you have stains on you upholstery, carpet and more then read on for some great stain removal tips!
Here are three common stains which everyone faces around the house and how to remove them!
1. Coffee Stains – We all know that first thing in the morning you might be a little off balance…yes we have all done it, spilled a drop or two of coffee on the carpet! How do you remove this stain? Well, as with any stain, act as fast as you can! Quickly blot up the spill (don’t rub it in!) and the less likely it will set. Mix 1 tsp of clear dish soap with warm water. Use a small amount at a time and work this mixture into the carpet fibers. Next, blot with a plain white paper towel or clean rag. Avoid using any cloth or soap that is dyed, as these could run. Now the final stage, Apply a mixture of 1 part vinegar 2 part water to the spot. Repeat the same blotting process as before, this should strip the coffee stain from the fibers. If you are unsure, always try this method on an inconspicuous part of the carpet first!
2. Red Wine – Argh! After your dinner party with some of your Hunter’s Creek neighbors you accidentally spill some red wine! As most people know, it is a very tough stain to remove! Firstly blot up as much of the liquid as possible. Next, pour on clean water and continue to blot. The more wine you absorb onto your rag the better. Now mix 3 parts baking soda to 1 part water, forming a thick paste. Scrub this paste into your stain, allow to dry slightly, and then vacuum.
3. Gross Grout! Stained tile grout is a pain, it seems like when we step in from the outside world onto our nice tile floor and in the shower etc. Tackling tile grout stains involves a lot of scrub, scrub, scrubbing! Mix Pine Sol with water and use a scrub brush to clean off surface level dirt. Once you’re done, use a clean rag to wipe away any excess water before dirt particles have a chance to resettle on the grout. If you have white grout, consider using bleach to make your grout shine! Clorox has a great product, called their Clorox Bleach Pen which gives you “precision control” and is great to use on wall tile.
Now you should have a clean, stain free home!
